THE NEBRASKA STATE CAPITOL BUILDING
LINCOLN, NEBRASKA
Nebraska is kind of a flat state, which makes its state capitol building
all the more striking. It's an especially stirring site at dawn and dusk,
when its limestone exterior takes on a rosy hue. It even has a statue of
a sower on the top (which only makes its local nickname, "The Penis of the
Plains," all the more justified). It's just as impressive on the inside,
though in a very different, very Art Deco, kind of way.
